It is because I've been drenched so many times that this song suddenly popped into my head for reasons unknown to me. Maybe cause my Dad likes to play oldies on his CD player. Whatever the case, it is quite a chirpy song with sudden exclamations in its music. Okay, enough yapping. The score is pretty old so do bear with it. The analysis is as follows on the score. (Pardon the simple analysis)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kIvtla3P86k/SMDKoc88BfI/AAAAAAAABXY/oPj5dCI6gEY/s320/hw_0001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5242412762574620146" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kIvtla3P86k/SMDKoSwz5rI/AAAAAAAABXg/U52GGFWji8g/s320/hw_0002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5242412759839401650" />

The phrase of the introduction is S-L-L. Though I'm not pretty sure because I find it pretty hard to determine the phrase pattern due to the way it is sung and also when I look at it from the score.

The harmonic phrase T-PD-D-T could not be noticed in succession one bar after another like the example that was given in the lecture slide. However, it could be noticed that T-PD-D-T could have spanned throughout the opening lyrical passage to the second time bar. (Bars 3 to 12) I'm not sure if it is accurate to say this but I'm just wondering if it is possible.

As it can be seen there is a sudden use of the A minor on the first beat of Bar 7. It acts as a sort of exclamation or a sort of surprise to the music. It is as if the note acts as a exclamation of something that is unexpected as the lyrics go 'And just like the guy whose feet are way too big for his...' It could be possible that one would not expect the word to be BED as it doesn't quite matter if your feet is too big for the bed cause I suppose one would be bothered if your LEGS are too long for the bed? Thus I suppose the surprise A minor chord was used for that function? To exclaim something ridiculous or unexpected? Or a sudden emphasis?

Hope I make sense here. I'm still trying to make more observations on the piece of music so there might be updates I hope!

First Entry...

Hello!
